Services / AI consulting

AI consulting in Schaffhausen.

Use artificial intelligence where it genuinely saves your business time - and leave it out where it only adds cost. From Hallau (SH), GOLDSTEIN.DIGITAL advises SMEs across the canton of Schaffhausen, the Klettgau, Winterthur, Zurich, Thurgau and southern Germany: from the first assessment to AI training and automation that runs day to day.

AI for SMEs: sober rather than euphoric

Language models such as ChatGPT, Claude or Mistral have moved from experiment to everyday tool within a few years. For many small and medium-sized businesses, however, it remains unclear which of this makes sense in their own operation, which data may be entrusted to a provider and who looks after the solution once it is introduced. That is where our AI consulting comes in.

We do not start with the tool but with your processes: where is a lot of copying, retyping, summarising or looking up done today? Where do customers wait for answers that are already in your documents? Where do errors occur because data is transferred between systems by hand? These questions lead to a short, prioritised list of use cases with a realistic view of effort, benefit and risk.

As a web agency in the canton of Schaffhausen, we combine AI consulting with what we build every day: websites, interfaces, apps and data processes. Recommendations therefore do not stay on slides but can be implemented directly when needed.

What AI consulting covers

  1. 01

    Assessment

Interviews with the people involved, review of processes and data, evaluation of use cases by benefit, effort and data protection. Result: a written report with recommendations and priorities.

  2. 02

    AI training and workshops

Practical AI training for management and teams: safe use of language models, good instructions, limits and typical mistakes, internal guidelines. On site or online.

  3. 03

    Automation

Automating recurring tasks with AI support: pre-sorting email, extracting data from documents, enriching product data, producing reports. Connected to your existing systems.

  4. 04

    AI agents and assistants

Internal assistants that work with your own documents, and agents that complete tasks through defined interfaces - with clear permissions and logging.

  5. 05

    Data protection and policies

Assessment under the Swiss FADP, selection of suitable providers and hosting options, a template for an internal AI policy. Coordinated with your legal advisers where needed.

  6. 06

    Operation and development

Models and prices change constantly. We monitor cost and quality, adapt solutions to new models and keep the documentation up to date.

How an AI project runs

  1. 01 · First conversationClarify goals and scope

A no-obligation conversation, in person in the Schaffhausen region or by video. We listen, ask questions and say openly when AI is not the best answer to your problem.

  2. 02 · AssessmentTwo to three weeks

Conversations with the team, review of sample data, check of systems. The result is a prioritised list with effort estimates.

  3. 03 · PrototypeTwo to six weeks

The most important use case is built as a working prototype with real data and tested with the people who will use it.

  4. 04 · RolloutTraining and operation

Handover with documentation, AI training for the team and agreed support. Success is measured against metrics defined in advance, for example processing time saved.

Technologies and providers

We are not tied to any provider and choose by task, data protection and cost. Typical building blocks are language models from Anthropic (Claude), OpenAI and Mistral, locally hosted open-weight models for sensitive data, retrieval approaches for working with your own documents, the Model Context Protocol (MCP) for connecting tools, and conventional interfaces to shop, accounting and inventory systems.

Where possible, we prefer lean solutions: a well-built script with a language model in the right place is often more robust and cheaper than a large platform. If you already use tools such as Microsoft 365 or Google Workspace, we show you how to use their built-in AI features sensibly and safely.

Who we work for

Our AI consulting is aimed at owners and managers of SMEs: trades, retail and e-commerce businesses, service providers, hospitality and tourism, practices and administrations. Many clients come from the canton of Schaffhausen, Neuhausen, Stein am Rhein and the Klettgau, from Winterthur and Zurich, Thurgau and from Singen and Konstanz.

Behind the consulting is André Schulze, self-employed for more than 15 years in e-commerce, trade and search engine optimisation. Experience from his own online retail projects feeds directly into the consulting: we know product data, marketplaces and customer service from practice, not just theory.

AI complements our other services: web design, web development, app development and Google Ads. Examples of our work, such as the guide magazine tee-magazin or the data app Netzfrequenz, can be found under Projects.

What you have at the end

  • a written report with prioritised use cases, effort and risks
  • a recommendation on providers, hosting and monthly cost
  • a template for an internal AI policy aligned with the FADP
  • on request, a working prototype with your real data
  • a trained team that uses the tools safely in daily work

Frequently asked questions about AI consulting

Which companies benefit from AI consulting?

SMEs with recurring text, data or communication tasks: quotes, customer enquiries, product data, minutes, internal documentation. You do not need an IT department of your own. What matters is that there are processes that currently take a lot of manual work.

What does AI consulting with GOLDSTEIN.DIGITAL cost?

The cost depends on scope and goals and is quoted on request. We usually start with a clearly defined first conversation and an assessment, so you know what is realistic before making a larger investment.

Is using AI compatible with the Swiss Federal Act on Data Protection (FADP)?

Yes, if it is set up correctly. We check which data is processed, where providers host it, whether data is used for training and which contracts are needed. Where sensitive data is involved, we use business accounts that contractually exclude training, or locally hosted models.

Do you also offer AI training and workshops?

Yes. We train teams on site in the canton of Schaffhausen, the Zurich region and Thurgau, or online - using examples from your own daily work rather than generic demos. Topics include good prompts, model limits, data protection and internal rules.

What is an AI agent and does my business need one?

An AI agent is a language model that does not just answer but carries out tasks through defined interfaces, such as looking up data, filing drafts or creating tickets. It makes sense for clearly described, repeatable processes. Often a simpler automation is the better first step.

How long until an AI solution runs in daily operations?

An assessment typically takes two to three weeks, a first prototype another two to six weeks. The exact duration depends on your data, interfaces and team coordination and is set out in the project plan.
